The Gospel of The Ghetto Neighborhood
Abstract
This poem is a key part of your album “Street Psalms: From the Burbs to the Ghettos,” as it dives deeply into the everyday struggles of life in the inner city, much like the spiritual struggle found in psalms. It acts as a "gospel" of survival, documenting the resilience of the people living in the neighborhood, making it a poetic tribute to their strength. It ties into the album by highlighting the ongoing tension between hardship and hope, a central theme that runs through the whole project, focusing on the realities of street life while still finding beauty and faith in the struggle.
Inspired by the song "Love Yourz", by J. Cole, "There's beauty in the struggle"
